„ The time for Cheap Energy in Malaysia will be over soon!”

Since 2009, the Energy Commission of the Malaysian Government is promoting EE (Energy Efficiency) with Road Shows, seminars and during Conferences. Up to now, there was little resonance from the market and industries. Despite the fact, that it will be mandatory to employ an Energy Manager in each bigger company, only few followed the legislation. Therefore, out of 1450 affected companies only about 150 registered the Energy manager so far.

During the Breakfast Seminar organized by the EUMCCI (European Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), the representative of the Energy Commission Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) was present and informed about the latest status. Therefore the time to announce and register Energy Managers is running out and soon the time starts to send out legal letters with small but significant fines. Even these fines are not high, the impact is more on the side of reputation and public relations as well as CSR of the companies affected.

However, the situation is maybe more serious than many managers and industrial leaders in Malaysia believe. For the gas supply on its own, subsidies will be slowly removed and the price per m3 gas will be adjusted to international standards. Every 6 month the gas price will be increased. This is a response due to the fact, that Malaysia will import more and more LNG to supply according local demand. Today already, the Malaysian Petro Industry as well as the resources are not able to produce enough natural gas for the demand in Malaysia – how long will it take to be in the same situation for the crude oil ?

Dear valued Visitors on IGEM and our Booth – thank you very much for your visit and feedback.
The main topics you can find a short summary below: Gas-Analyzer, Gas-Analyzer and H2S (AVOIDANCE) Technology, CDM – Monitoring and Waste to Energy Projects with BOD 20 compliance.

Gas-Analyzer …
Our teamwork with the German manufacturer AWITE was the right choice. After having already 9 units in the market in SEA (5 in Malaysia) since January 2011, the resonance and satisfaction of our clients is overwhelming. Many visitors during the IGEM were interested in the flexible modular concept which is applicable for any application in Biogas, Landfill Gas and Coal Bed Methane. The price – performance ratio is unbeaten by any other importer and trader. In addition, the ENERBON service capability including CDM compliance is unique for Gas Analyzer in this market with highly competitive price level and performance ratio. Please visit our web page for references and additional information. read more …>

Gas-Analyzer and H2S (AVOIDANCE) Technology …
Very high level of interest was received by our technology and package units to avoid the biochemical production of H2S in Biogas Plants and Anaerobe Processes. The new and innovative technology will be placed in front of the digester system and works hand in hand with the biochemistry of the anaerobe process. As a result, scrubbers are not needed any more and CAPEX as well as operational cost are minimized. The typical disadvantage of high CAPEX for chemical scrubber combined with high operational cost and waste treatment as well as the moderate cost for biological scrubbers with the loss of 3-6% Methane (= loss of 3-6% profit) will be eliminated with this state of the art technology. The design can be applied with existing biogas plants as well as with green field projects. H2S levels will be guaranteed below 200ppm, however in praxis we reached stable values between 5-20ppm constant. For details, please contact us or refer to our web page for basic information.

CDM – Monitoring …
Still one of the “hot topics” and even today not fully understood in the market, ENERBON support, train and design the necessary CDM Monitoring Solutions. As trainer of DOE (TUV Nord, SIRIM), we know, what we need to take care of and have a fundamental understanding and Know-How for this monitoring automation solutions. ENERBON provide “Turn Key” CDM Solutions in close teamwork with authorities, project owner, and process provider as well as ENERBON provides the necessary compliant services for the live time of the project. Please see our references in the web and contact us for more information. read more…>

Waste to Energy Projects with BOD 20 compliance …
In addition to a short interview and discussion with Y.B. Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia, many clients were interested in the complete technological solution to reach BOD 20. This was even more important than CDM (Carbon Credits) as it was pointed out by some visitors and palm oil mill managers from Sabah, Malaysia. The technology is there, the Know-How is there, however … “why does it not work out today ?” – many visitors are asking. The answer is as simple as the realization is complex: “To reach BOD 20 and below stable, several contradictory conditions need to be interlinked and controlled. The mill operational conditions, the anaerobe process, the aerobe process and environmental impacts like rain and water.”
Actually, ENERBON is in the pre-project phase with the first LoA of 4 palm oil mills in Sabah and will start the project development and implementation soon. “We are looking forward to prove our technology with constant and stable effluent discharge below BOD 20 as soon as the plants are operating in 2012 … this will be a show case for other palm oil mill owner and management to understand that it is possible with the right technology, as substantial budget and operational excellence to reach BOD 20 compliance, “ was pointed out by Martin Schmidt, Man. Director ENERBON.
For further information, please feel free to contact us and visit our web site.

Kind regards
Martin Schmidt

Discussion with Y.B. Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia:

ENERBON provide Technology, Know-How and Operational Services to reach discharge water quality better than BOD 20 in the Palm Oil Industry. In the discussion with Minister Dato’ Sri Peter Chin during IGEM 10th September 2011, Martin Schmidt pointed out the possibility of 2 step treatment with anaerobe and aerobe Waste to Energy Technology. The added value is not only given in compliance to the BOD 20 regulation of the DOE but also in generating revenue streams like Biogas, Energy, Fertilizer, Water Recycling, Cellulosic – high calorific – Pallets and CDM (Carbon Credits).

Peter Chin pointed out, that there is “desperate need for this technology especially in Sabah and Sarawak, where some Palm Oil Mills got fined seriously and even closed”.

Actually, ENERBON and its business partners have secured first LoA’s for 4 palm Oil Mills in Sabah and the first steps for the project development are ongoing in close teamwork with the mill owner and mill management. “Up to today, there is NO constant and long term stable discharge of less than BOD 20 given in the Palm Oil Industry and many eyes and ears are close to the project development of ENERBON”.

Many Thanks for the short and important talk, Minister Dato’ Sri Peter Chin.
